Applications for Life . . . Sin has brought much deadly change into the creation. God provides only good things for us. He is not the author of evil. We must help, not condemn, those who are sick. A person's illness may well be due to the sin-curse on creation, not to any sin in the individual's life. We must help, not condemn, the victims of natural disasters. Disasters may well be due to the sin-curse on creation, not to any particular sin in the victims' lives. The sin-cursed creation is not working the way it is supposed to work. Storms, fires, and other so-called "acts of God" are really "acts of man" brought about by the original sin of Adam and Eve. Sin has awful physical consequences. When any of us sins, like Adam and Eve we may be hurting future generations. Man is sinful, and by himself produces destructive and chaotic, even deadly, change. Only Christ, the Creator of life, can make truly good and lasting changes in people's lives. With God's help, man can produce some good societal changes. Despite all that even good people can do, the creation awaits the day when Christ will miraculously purge sin from His creation.
