The pictures on this page were taken Wednesday, May 7, 2003 in downtown Chattanooga along the Tennessee River. Local news reports that flooding crested the Tennessee River at about 12m above its normal level. The pictures above record the worst flooding in Chattanooga sin 1973. The flood of 1973 only raised the river by .33 more meters than the flood of 2003.
